Many years of experience in research and consulting have shown that clients’ wishes can best be met on the basis of flexible working practices and by ensuring that a designated single point of contact is available to deal with any queries.
Consequently, all the services provided by the Institute of Biogas, Waste Management and Energy are coordinated - and largely carried out - by Professor Frank Scholwin himself. This ensures that the Institute is able to give precise and detailed answers to clients’ questions. The Institute’s co-operation with experts across its wide-ranging network allows it to work very flexibly and respond promptly to all enquiries. The Institute is virtual in nature. It focuses on disciplinary work, operating no technical infrastructure of its own and utilising the possibilities of state-of-the-art communications technology.
The Institute’s work is founded on the latest scientific findings. Its analyses always incorporate technical, economic, ecological and organisational aspects. They are always conducted on the basis of specific client need. Interim results are discussed in detail with the client in order to realise concrete viable solutions. The focus is always on the existing or planned overall system, so as to identify potential for optimisation and devise viable solutions for the future.
Professor Frank Scholwin sets out his mission as follows: "My aim is to support the implementation of biogas technology in order to contribute to the sustainable transition of the energy system from fossil fuels to renewables and create sustainable material life-cycles." In pursuing that aim, alongside its consulting and expert reporting services the Institute invests a great deal of time in presentations to scientific conferences, membership of industrial and academic bodies, knowledge transfer and teaching. The dissemination of research findings and knowledge on a national - and in particular an international - basis enables many different people to realise projects, thereby making the greatest possible contribution to the energy transition process and to climate protection.
