Company: Dr. Thomas Schmidt
Dr.-Ing. Thomas Schmidt studied Agriculture and International Agricultural Science at the University of Kassel and the Humboldt University in Berlin. He started working in the field of biogas as part of his master's thesis and conducted research on the topic of trace elements during an 8-month internship at Institute of Agricultural and Urban Ecological Projects at the Humboldt University Berlin (IASP). From 2008 to 2014 he was a research assistant at the Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum gGmbH (DBFZ). As a project leader in the working group "Characterization and Development of Anaerobic Processes" he was involved in national and international research projects. Additionally, he attained his PhD from the University of Rostock in 2015. From 2016 to 2018, he was employed by the University of Southern Queensland (Australia), where he carried out research projects on biogas production from residues.
He has been a part of the team at Institute for Biogas, Waste Management and Energy since November 2018.
